“I will sing about the LORD’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth.” (Psalm 89:1, HCSB)

WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Robert Gabriel Mugabe of Zimbabwe (southern Africa).

THEOLOGICAL EDUCATORS OF THE CENTRAL SAHEL (WEST AFRICA) - Impressive, majestic brick buildings, manicured lawns, an expansive, modern library and air-conditioned dorm suites are things that you will not see on the West Africa Francophone Baptist Seminary in Togo. Rather, you will walk through knee-high grasses (their old lawnmower is broken again), see louvered windows with ripped screens, and encounter cement floors and tired fans that move the hot air slowly in classrooms that are still outfitted with blackboards and chalk dust. In the president’s housing, the plumbing is old and leaky, the kitchen cupboards have long since lost their doors, and the countertops have been worked on down to bare, rough wood. Yet in this simple environment, professors diligently teach theology to form solid, biblical pastors for the region. In this simple environment, the president has developed and launched seminary classes through the Internet to reach those who are unable to attend physically, but who could go to a cyber cafe for a connection. Pray for this endeavor, asking that hundreds, even thousands, will register for theology classes on the web, and that an abundance of pastors will be formed.

UIGHURS OF NORTHWEST CHINA (WEE-ghurs) - “The bell rang, and I opened the door of my next class and noticed five of the students bowed in prayer for ‘Namaz,’ which is the Muslim five-times-a-day prayers. The other students saw me hesitate before entering, so they said, ‘They’re praying.’ As I put my books down on the desk, they finished their prayers and took their seats. This occurrence has become more common in the school where I teach. Although the majority of the students don’t pray five times a day, there are a few who are quite devout. Most days, I consider it a privilege to enter into the lives of the many students who come to study--not only as their teacher, but also as a light penetrating the darkness of the world. The Father guides me not only in how to impart knowledge, but also in how to set healthy boundaries so that His love is displayed to the students and my fellow teachers. Although I may not be able to share the depth of His words often, I know that He is working in me and through me to love my students in His way, which also challenges me to grow in my own walk with Jesus.” Pray for the many Uighur people who are trying to appear more devout. Ask that they will feel an inner push to seek Truth. Also pray for the workers among the Uighur people to have opportunities to “share the depth of His words” and be “a light penetrating the darkness of the world.”
