Friday, July 18, 2014 To hear an mp3 recording of the PrayerLine, click here. http://media1.imbresources.org/files/209/20930/20930-113749.mp3 “Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” (1 Corinthians 3:7, HCSB) Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for those who have recently been baptized or will be soon. “Silas* decided to follow Jesus in baptism after listening to accurate stories about baptism from the Bible,” writes a worker in South Africa. “Now two Deaf men from this group that gathers on Sundays are ready to follow the Son by faith and be baptized.”  The Upper Zambezi Team is praising God for the spiritual growth and unity they have seen in the Baptist Mission of Sesheke Church. The church family had a major setback a few months ago, but they are trusting the Lord and moving forward now. They are loving on people and sharing Jesus during weekly evangelism visits. They are starting new membership classes for those interested in joining the church. And more than six people want to be baptized soon. God has provided the growth in Cong’s* life. His friend accepted Christ first and then shared a testimony with Cong. Through his friend, Cong met other believers, each sharing a testimony or an encouragement for him to accept Christ. As God removed the doubts, Cong took the critical step of faith. Recently Cong was baptized by that first friend who had shared the Gospel with him, as Cong himself gave testimony to his new life in Christ.  * Please pray that Cong and the small group of new believers he meets with in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will continue to grow in basic discipleship--obeying and putting into practice what they learn from God.  * Ask God to raise up more leaders in the Baptist Mission of Sesheke Church and reveal the one God has chosen to be the pastor. * Pray that when the deaf congregation gathers again, these two men will be ready to follow through with their commitment.  (*pseudonym)
