My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalm 84:1-2, NKJV) Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, encouraging you to pray for those attending various camps. Jared and Nicole Mallet*, workers reaching the Deaf of Europe, have teamed with another worker from Canada to lead a Deaf summer camp in Hungary. Approximately 50 Deaf are attending. They are from four different countries, and are communicating in four different sign languages. How amazing and wonderful our God is for bringing these Deaf individuals to the camp so they may know the Good News about Jesus!  In Southeast Asia, a StoryOne Base Camp was held for the purpose of crafting, videotaping and distributing Bible stories in sign languages. During that time, believers crafted, videotaped and distributed eight Bible stories in two languages. One man was not able to come, so he recruited two other Deaf to take his place. Twenty-two people, with four languages/cultures and all ages, participated; and no drama, arguments or major misunderstandings occurred--a true picture of how the body of Christ should work. Each of the participants hopes to come back for the two more camps scheduled for later this year. With the exception of a plague of “Asian gnats” that swarmed the room for about three hours, there were no major incidences, and even the infestation turned into a blessing—well, what some would call a blessing. The nationals collected the bugs and fried them up for breakfast . . . delicious!  * Please pray for the Deaf of Southeast Asia who attended the StoryOne Base Camp, thanking God for the way He is working in their lives. * Ask God to open the hearts of the Deaf campers as His love is shared with them and pray for many to make a decision to follow Jesus.  * Intercede for the salvation of thousands of children and adults who are attending camps and Vacation Bible School this summer.
