| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST July 17, 2014 “I call to You for help, LORD; in the morning my prayer meets You.” (Psalm 88:13, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Muhammad Salim Ba Sindwah of Yemen (southern Arabian Peninsula). SOUTHEAST ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - There are 40,000 Kaur living in southern Sumatra, Indonesia. Most of the Kaur are simple farming folk. When they get the opportunity to hear the Gospel, which is not often, they usually refuse to respond because they do not feel qualified to discern if the message is true or not. They prefer to defer to their local religious leaders. Please ask the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts to hear and receive the Gospel message. Pray for these “tillers of the soil” to have the courage to go against cultural norms in order to receive God’s salvation. SOUTHERN CROSS PROJECT (SCP), EAST ASIAN PEOPLES - Tourists exit the bus, and they see people offering them free packages and telling them about God’s love. But they are like the shepherds of old who were “sore afraid” or “terrified” at the angels’ announcement. Many times they walk past with stone-set faces, too fearful to interact. Some will turn to the tour guide and secretively ask, “Can we take this package?” If the tour guide is a “person of peace” (Luke 10:6), they will explain to the group, “Don’t be afraid, these are Christian materials that you may take home.” Please pray for a softening in the tour guides’ hearts so that they will become encouragers.
