| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST July 25, 2014 “In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You.” (Isaiah 49:8a, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Head of Government Antoni Marti of Andorra (principality between France and Spain). EAST ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - The Digao are located in central Yunnan province, China. They number approximately 29,000 and are considered to be part of the Yi minority. There are no known Digao believers, even though a Catholic priest lived among them from 1910 until 1933. They are mostly farmers who live among the Han Chinese and also other minority people groups. Generally only the older Digao can speak their mother tongue. They are an animistic people, and still have ceremonies annually to honor their ancestors. They continue to live in fear of evil spirits and consult shamans about spiritual matters. Please pray that the Digao people will hear about Jesus and His Good News. Pray that they will be freed from the bondage of evil spirits and ancestor worship. Petition for Christian workers to take the Gospel to the Digao people. SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN PEOPLES - “On July 29 through August 5, eight men who are representing their churches will be ‘searching out the land’ in East Africa, as a big effort is being made to try to connect churches in the United States with unengaged and unreached people groups. Please pray for these representatives, as well as four of our own IMB personnel and translators, as they visit some of those who have never heard the Gospel. Please ask God to open the doors for churches to join us in reaching the lost and to give them a heart to adopt a people group as their own.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
