| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST July 15, 2014 “Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.” (Ephesians 6:19, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Governor John DeJongh of the Virgin Islands (northeastern West Indies). CHINESE OF WESTERN EUROPE - Some IMB workers were walking in a park to meet some Chinese brothers and sisters for a picnic when they met a Chinese exchange student who had been in Germany for three days. They asked if she would like to join them, and she did. Since then, Sharon* has been coming to church and has been attending a student Bible study. In her home country, Sharon had become interested in knowing more about Christianity, and someone had shared Truth with her. Later that person was arrested for sharing the Gospel. Sharon will only be in Germany for six months. Please pray that she will become a disciple of Christ. (*pseudonym) ZEFETO OF THE HORN OF AFRICA (ze-FE-toh) - In an area where Zefeto people are listening to the audio New Testament, believing in Jesus, gathering in house churches, and enjoying changed lives, a religious leader from another area stood at a gathering of the people in the valley and, over a loudspeaker, forbade the people to listen to the audio New Testament and accused those changed ones of being heretics. The people stood against this man and appealed to a higher official for permission to continue. God arranged for this official to be influenced by a believer. The accuser was forced to announce from the loudspeaker that the changed ones were telling the truth and that the audio New Testament was indeed a Holy Book. The believers are rejoicing. Their friends and neighbors are now asking for audio Bibles. Thank God for this season of openness to the truth and peace! Ask God to build up the believers as they walk in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit like the believers in Acts 9:31. Ask Him to provide thousands of audio New Testaments. Pray that God will strengthen the faith of the believers for the next round of persecution.
