Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST January 21, 2015 “I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment.” (Philippians 1:9, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray for President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita of Mali (western Africa). BASOTHO OF LESOTHO AND SOUTH AFRICA (BAH-soo-too) - For the young Basotho woman, walking is a privilege she lost years ago. The young woman lies in her bed in a small African house that sits on the side of a mountain. She hears the sounds of the village, but her inability to walk leaves her wondering about the sights that accompany those sounds. Two “Hands On” missionaries made it their joy to visit this young woman weekly. They reminded her of her purpose in Christ . . . and that she was not hopeless. She listened week after week, and one day, she accepted the truth of the gospel and now she is “walking” in obedience to Jesus! Pray that this young woman can be discipled and that she will be given the opportunity to share with those who come to visit her in her remote home. Pray that God will be her peace and her joy! Give thanks that when we come to Christ, we are a new creation in Him! RIF BERBERS OF NORTHERN AFRICA AND EUROPE (reef BER-bers) - A man asked Joseph*, who has been a Muslim-background believer for several years, “How do you know these foreign believers?” To the shock of the man, Joseph quickly and lovingly replied, “We’re family. They’re my blood.” Despite obvious physical and cultural differences, Joseph sees that the bond between believers through the blood of Jesus is the strongest form of family. Please pray for unity like this between believers of different cultures so that the world may see the beauty of the loving family of the Son. Ask that those who are being called out of darkness and into the light will see that if they forsake their earthly family for the sake of Jesus, they will be welcomed into His eternal, heavenly family.
