Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST January 30, 2015 “In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You.” (Isaiah 49:8a, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray for President Enrique Pena Nieto of Mexico (southern North America). SUSU OF GUINEA (SOO-soo) - “Much as I would like to report that Ebola is on its way out, that just isn’t the case. There continues to be much fear and distrust here. People choose not to seek medical help, or do not report suspected cases of Ebola. Some of those being monitored after being exposed to Ebola go into hiding; families continue to try to impede health workers from safely burying victims of the disease. Recently in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the capital, health workers, officials (including the governor of Conakry), and some ambassadors who were in the process of dedicating a new Ebola treatment center in that neighborhood were driven out by the local people, and their equipment was vandalized. Instead of recognizing that this center would help people get the assistance they need, they saw it as a threat and an effort to bring the disease into their community. As I write this, I am reminded of how our Savior came into this world to bring healing and restoration; He was despised and rejected by those He came to save. Pray that Satan’s schemes to promote chaos and hysteria will be thwarted. Pray that people will hear, recognize and accept the truth--not just about this disease, but also about the Savior who loves them and died for them. Lift up health workers and believers as they work to raise awareness and educate the people. Pray for many opportunities for them to share the truth of God’s Word.” YEMEN - Socotra is an island off the coast of Yemen. It has been less affected by the recent political turmoil than the rest of the country has been, and it has a history of Christianity. According to oral tradition, the apostle Thomas brought Christianity to the island, and as recently as 400 years ago, there were Socotri churches. Pray for Socotri hearts to open to the gospel again, and pray that the church will be re-planted on the island of Socotra during these difficult days for Yemen.
