Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST January 29, 2015 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18, NKJV) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray for President Daniel Zaidini of Mayotte (island off the coast of southern Africa, between Mozambique and Madagascar). CENTRAL ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - Bareena* and her son Anwar* heard the gospel and believed in Christ two years ago in the capital city of Dagestan, Russia. Hundreds of miles away, Teemur* also heard and believed the Truth while working as a construction worker in Moscow. Teemur, Bareena and Anwar are the first known believers among the 30,000 Muslim Rutul (pronounced ROOH-toohl) people of Russia. Praise the Lord! Pray that God will strengthen these new believers through the Holy Spirit so that they will be firmly established and able to comprehend fully the depth of Christ’s love for them. Pray that God will use Teemur, Bareena and Anwar for the expansion of the gospel across many Rutul families, clans and villages. (*names changed) HONG KONG AND MACAU, CHINA (ma-COW) - The number of evangelical believers in Hong Kong and Macau is small in comparison to their respective populations. In Hong Kong, with a population of 7 million, approximately 6 percent are followers of Christ; while in Macau, 1.3 percent claim Jesus as Lord amid a population of 631,000. With the vast majority of Chinese in both cities having strong ties to Chinese folk religion, there is resistance to the gospel; yet the faithful in Hong Kong and Macau remain diligent in sharing the Good News, whether by word or deed. The spirit of darkness needs to be broken. Will you pray that this barrier will be broken so that many will be free to hear the Good News? Also pray that the faithful will remain in Him as they proclaim Jesus Christ throughout these two cities.
