| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST June 25, 2014 “In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.” (Romans 8:26, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey (eastern Mediterranean). MANDINKA OF WEST AFRICA (man-DINK-uh) - “As we headed home from language school, we plodded along in the heat of the day down the dusty path. Goats, pigs and sheep darted in front of us. We had little to say to each other, as our minds were tired from trying to grasp this language. A neighbor stepped in beside us. We greeted half-heartedly in the glaring afternoon sun. ‘I heard you gave a Bible to Abraham.* Can I have one too?’ he asked. Abraham is a young neighbor who got accepted into the university. A few months ago, he moved to the city, which is 12 hours away from our village, to begin classes. The night before he left, we gave him a small gift of school supplies and a Bible. Abraham was so excited about the Bible that he began telling his friends about it, and now this man wanted to know if we had another copy to give him. Thankfully, we had a box of Bibles in our garage, so we quickly got him one. Days later, we saw him sitting in the road with his friends, reading the Bible! While none of these men have turned from Islam to Christ, the word is getting out. They are asking questions. When we were in the city last month, we had the opportunity to follow up with Abraham, who said, ‘Thank you for giving me that Bible!’ Please pray that the Word of God will speak to the hearts of these men.” (*pseudonym) SOUTH ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES - In “the land of mountains” of northern Pakistan live the nearly 40,000 Bateri people. If you went there and searched for a Bible in their language, you would find none. Neither would you find a copy of the “JESUS” film or any Gospel recordings. Nor would you hear anything about Jesus on the radio. No Good News of salvation has yet come to them. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send many laborers to the Bateri people. Pray for the resources and translators needed to produce Bible portions and recordings in their language. Perhaps the Holy Spirit is already preparing the Bateri people to hear His message; pray that He will continue to do so.
