Jenny* is one of more than one million Chinese who live in Western Europe. She became a Christian during a difficult time, and her life was transformed. One day several years ago, Jenny received a call that her 87-year-old mother was depressed because her two sons had been arrested for a crime they did not commit. Jenny immediately flew to help her mother and her brothers. That night the two talked for a long time, and the mother, who was a committed Buddhist, asked Jenny to tell about her God. The next morning, Jenny’s mother said, “Let’s go. I am ready to be baptized.” Her brothers also became followers of Christ. They were encouraged by the story of God’s care for Joseph when he was in prison, so the family asked God to protect the brothers. One of the brothers was pardoned, and the other served nine months. The Jula Team traveled to a village outside of Bobo-Dioulasso to meet with a family and share stories from the Word. This family held tightly to their beliefs in Islam. Team members left an SD card full of stories in Jula, and as Adama* listened, the Lord began to change his heart. The more he listened, the less he went to the mosque for prayer times. During their last meeting, he confessed that Jesus is the Son of God and explained that he has chosen to walk “the Jesus Road,” no matter the cost! This new road will bring trials and persecution for Adama and his family. * Please pray that the Lord will strengthen and encourage Adama during this time. * Pray that Jenny and other strong Christians will be faithful to share the Good News with their families, with other Chinese in Europe, and with the citizens of their host country. * Ask the Lord to use you as a triumphant witness for Him.
