Education is a very effective way to connect with Palestinians, as it is valued by Palestinians and many adults come to the classes that some believers are offering. The believers are able to spend extended periods of time with the students, and they have received feedback that they are very different in the way they interact--because they are followers of Jesus. They also help the students learn critical thinking skills, which is very different than their usual “rote” learning system. Because Palestinians are very hospitable, the believers are invited to their homes and introduced to their families, where they can engage in meaningful conversations. Over the past de¬cade, university cities have sprung up across China; they are now home to 23 mil¬lion students. One way to reach these students for the sake of the Gospel is for churches and collegiate ministries to adopt China’s university cities and formu¬late long-term strategies. Christian students from the United States sent out through various programs to impact lives with the Gospel are themselves often impacted for life. Since 2009, more than 200 students have shared the Gospel with East Asians through the “Hands On” program. Thousands have heard, and many have accepted Jesus. Other students will soon head to East Asia for a new summer opportunity called Face2Face. * Please pray that many more students will participate in the semester program and discover how God wants to change lives--the lives of international students for salvation and the lives of Christian students for long-term service. * Pray that the Gospel will be proclaimed on every university campus in China in a way that the students understand and want to respond in faith. * Ask the Lord for spiritual discernment as the believers interact with Palestinian students and visit their homes and villages. |
