“The next generation will be told about the Lord. They will come and tell a people yet to be born about His righteousness.” (Psalm 22:30b-31a)

WORLD LEADER - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Abdoul Mbaye of Senegal (western Africa).

ABIDJAN, COTE D’IVOIRE (ab-i-JAHN) - “In Abidjan, our Baptist churches are often faced with communities in desperate need, and they have very limited resources to meet those needs. Please pray as a group of 30 women meets this month to begin to get a handle on how they can make a difference in their communities while taking the Gospel to those in need. On May 14-17, these Baptist women will gather for a conference on community development in which they will learn how to identify needs in their community, assess their available assets and resources, and make a plan to benefit those in need and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus. Pray that these women will be able to get to this conference, God will give them safety in travel, and they will learn about tools that can help them to help others and be the hands and feet of Christ.”

NORTHERN YEMENI ARABS OF YEMEN (YEH-muh-nee) - There are at least three different warring factions fighting in Yemen right now. Pray that a spirit of peace will flow over Yemen and that Yemenis will take to heart: “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword, shall perish by the sword” (Matthew 26:52). Pray for internally displaced people (IDPs), innocent bystanders whose homes and lives have been destroyed by the constant violence. In one of the many areas in the country with ongoing conflict, landmines have been left behind and are harming many innocent children. Pray that de-mining groups will be able to get to the areas that need to be de-mined in order to protect children and others who may stumble across an old landmine.
