| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST May 19, 2014 "Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You at a time that You may be found.” (Psalm 32:6a) WORLD LEADER - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia (central Europe, south of Poland). CONSERVATIVE CLERICS AND STUDENTS OF ISLAM IN THE UNITED KINGDOM - A group of young women will be joining the work in the United Kingdom to share with those they meet, prayerwalk, and seek opportunities to learn about Muslim people. They will be in the U.K. for several weeks. Please pray that their time there will be Spirit-filled and focused on God’s will. Pray for His direction in sharing and in serving the Muslim women they will meet. Ask that the hearts of these young women who are coming to serve will be broken for the lostness they see. Ask the Holy Spirit to draw others to Jesus through this time of sharing and seeking God’s leadership. Pray for “people of peace” (Luke 10:6) to welcome these visitors, and ask that these people of peace will accept the gift of the Father. TSWANA OF BOTSWANA (t’SWAN-ah) - Thank the Lord for the Molepolole Baptist Care Center, which had its official opening this spring. The care center is the second of its kind to be opened through the local Baptist churches in Botswana to help poor and vulnerable children who have lost either one or both parents, most likely due to AIDS. Botswana has one of the highest AIDS infection rates in the world, leaving approximately 20 percent of its children as orphans. Most are placed in the care of an extended family member, but they are often seen as a burden and not cared for properly. The Molepolole Baptist Care Center and its predecessor, the Lobatse Orphan Care Center, bring children in after school and help them with their schoolwork, feed them, and invest in them spiritually through Bible stories and songs. One little girl who comes to the care center has already had a heart attack, due to taking antiretroviral (ARV) drugs without having anything to eat. But now she is healthy and can come in every day and have a hot meal and take her ARV medicine. The churches didn’t have the capability through their tithe to sustain these two care centers, but they stepped out in faith, knowing that the Lord would provide. They’ve learned to make materials to sell, such as headbands made from donated local scrap materials and coffee cozies and scarves hand-knitted from donated yarn. It’s amazing to see the Lord provide and the women trust in Him for every need!
