“I must proclaim the good news about the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because I was sent for this purpose.” (Luke 4:43)

WORLD LEADER - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Ralph Everard Gonsalves of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (eastern Caribbean Sea).

QUILOMBOLAS OF BRAZIL (key-lohm-BALL-uhs) - God is at work in two Quilombola communities, where recently local teams and those from the United States have joined together to do Bible narratives and children’s work in schools among people who rarely get visitors to their communities, and where there is no church. Hearts and doors have been flung wide open! Pray for a team from Arkansas who will work in the community of St. Ben to continue doing Bible narratives. Recently, due to the funeral of a young boy, two people came to Christ from the community where this team worked last year. Pray that God will bring the people of this community to repentance and Christ as they hear the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

SOUTH TOKYO, JAPAN (TOH-kyoh) - Japanese will celebrate Children’s Day or Boy’s Day on May 5. Many families will put out banners shaped like a carp as a sign of how many boys are in the family and the strength it takes to get ahead in life. Some will have samurai helmets in cases in their homes. The boys today will become the businessmen of the future. As South Tokyo Team members continue to reach out to the businessmen in a variety of places, they are discovering what concerns and difficulties these men face in their workplaces. Some say that they are always being evaluated and ranked in comparison to another employee, and they never know if they are doing enough. Others talk about the long hours they spend at the workplace or with workplace colleagues after work, causing them to return home late at night and then needing to get up early the next morning to make the commute again. Pray that those reaching out to the young businessmen will recognize the many needs in their lives. Pray for new meeting places and times that will be easy to attend and places of warmth and acceptance. Pray for the Bible studies and studies about setting boundaries and other issues, asking that these will strengthen the faith of each believer. Ask the Holy Spirit to blow through the workplaces in Tokyo to refresh those tired and weary men who need to leave their burdens at the feet of Jesus.
