| CompassionNet now on Pinterest! Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST May 9, 2014 “Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You rescued them. They cried to You and were set free; they trusted in You and were not disgraced.” (Psalm 22:4-5) WORLD LEADER - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for King Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia (Middle East, bordering the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. EAST ASIAN PEOPLES - Thank God that Christian students from the United States, sent out through various programs to impact lives with the Gospel, are themselves often impacted for life. Since 2009, more than 200 students have shared the Gospel with East Asians through the “Hands On” program. Thousands have heard, and many have accepted Jesus. Pray that many more students will participate in the semester program. Other students will soon head to East Asia for a new summer opportunity called Face2Face. Ask that all who share and all who hear will commit their lives fully to Jesus (2 Timothy 1:9). LAST FRONTIER - Despite difficult circumstances, a group of believers decided that they would follow the Most High God, no matter the cost. Their walk with the Father has been tested over and over. It’s a daily battle due to peer pressure, job loss, separation from their families, loss of their homes, and ongoing persecution, yet they still meet weekly and exhibit boldness in sharing the Good News with others. A worker visited the home of the family where this house church meets. Before arriving at the home, he noticed some signage with verses on them. All along the top of the wire fence, the house church had placed verses telling about God’s love for people. This public display is not only meant as an encouragement for followers, but also for those who have yet to believe. Each time people walk by this fence--strategically located on the only road into and out of that area--they see the words of the Most High God. As a result of these signs, some people have made inquiries and others have placed their trust in the living God. Deuteronomy 6:9 says: “Write them (commandments) on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Thank God for the boldness of these followers who are not ashamed of the Gospel! Pray that the Spirit will continue to use the Word to draw many to the Savior. Pray for followers to continue sharing boldly with others. Ask the Father to give them strength and endurance as they face difficulties.
