Youssef* is a Tunisian Arab father and husband who has lived his entire life as a follower of Islam. But he is a seeker of truth and owns quite a few religious books, which is unusual. He had a copy of the Bible but someone had taken it, so he requested another one. When meeting with a follower of Jesus, Youssef expressed a firm grasp of the Bible’s teachings as well as a thirst to know more, but he continues to believe that the Quran, the book of Islam, is divinely inspired. The Holy Spirit opens the eyes of those who earnestly seek Him.   A believer met with a North African man over the winter, and the seeker said that he believes that Jesus is “a special man.” Later, this seeker introduced the believer to some of his friends who have been listening to the audio New Testament. As one worker shared Christ with a Muslim friend, she listened quietly and then responded with this thought: “In order for someone to leave what they believe and choose a different way, they must be unsatisfied.” Unsatisfied . . . there is much truth in what she said. Why does anyone come to Christ, unless, as the Holy Spirit leads, we feel a lack of satisfaction in our lives? We find ourselves longing for more and feeling a lack of contentment with the lives we have been living. Christ fills that longing and settles the soul. * Please pray that this Muslim friend and many other Kashmiri Muslims will be “unsatisfied.” * Intercede for this North African seeker and his friends to continue to hear the Word with openness and to soon realize that Jesus is more than “a special man.” * Pray that the Lord will help Youssef overcome his unbelief, bringing him to a saving faith. *pseudonym
