| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST September 12, 2014 “But from there, you will search for the LORD your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Jose Maria Pereira Neves of Cape Verde (North Atlantic Ocean, west of Senegal, Africa). ALGERIA - Joe* has been following the Father for many years. The Father has used him in many ways to help others follow. Joe has even started a school that teaches other leaders. Pray that the Father will grant much fruit to the men who learn at this school, as well as boldness, as they talk about the stories from the Bible. Ask Him to reach women through the wives of these men who are learning at the school. (*name changed) SENUFO SUPYIRE OF MALI (SIN-oo-fo su-PEER-ay) - “For several years, one young man was the only Christian in his family. He continues to struggle with difficulties related to his immediate family and needs your prayer support for encouragement and endurance. But we are happy to share that he is no longer the only believer in his family, as he has been joined on ‘the Jesus Road’ by one of his brothers! There are also a few other young members of his extended family who have expressed an interest in reading the Bible and learning more about being a Christ follower. These young adults are experiencing pressure from older family members who are strictly devoted to a world religion and do not intend to let these youth choose the Way without a fight. Please pray for continued interest on the part of these seekers through the trials they will face. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict them of their need for a Savior and aid them in understanding and accepting the truths of Scripture about Christ. Pray also for wisdom for our team as we endeavor to communicate with these young people without causing undue problems for them with their family.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
