Mr. Tamboli and Mr. Shaikh both came to Christ during the past two years. Their last names happen to be the names of two major Muslim people groups in the Deccan of India. They also have something else in common: Their extended families do not appear to be interested in Christ. Bayram* is a Mediterranean Turkish man who is reading the Word and growing every day. He is excited about his new faith, but is encountering a few obstacles that are keeping him from fully committing. Five Chinese women in Western Europe committed their lives to Jesus Christ and were baptized. Miss Wu*, standing beside one of our workers as they watched the baptism, remarked that the process of sharing the Good News, hearing their confession of faith in Christ, and then witnessing their baptism was like assisting in their spiritual birth. Ora* came to know Jesus through the witness of a nurse when she was in the hospital in Thailand. Knowing that she might be facing death made Ora want to know more about the God of love. Now she loves sharing Jesus with people she meets wherever she is. She has faced persecution and rejection from her family and neighbors, but these difficulties just make her trust God even more. She sees how God provides for her even in the littlest ways and praises Him for His blessings. * Please pray that Ora, these five Chinese women, and Bayram will continue to grow in faith and that they will continue to share their faith broadly. * Pray for Mr. Tamboli and Mr. Shaikh that they will not settle for anything less than faithfully abiding in Christ and obeying what they come to learn and understand of their Savior. * Give praise to the Lord for the 15 new believers in Taiwan, 11 in Mongolia, 9 in Madagascar, and 200 among the Songhai of West Africa. *names changed |
