| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST September 4, 2014 “Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to You. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all.” (1 Chronicles 29:11, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski of Bulgaria (southeastern Europe). ATHLETES OF EAST ASIA - “We will be taking a group of students from a university to a nearby tourist area for a weekend hiking trip. Most of these students are nonbelievers. An American friend will be coming to lead several sessions on relationships. Please pray for open hearts to hear and receive the message and for relationships to develop with the Christian students who will be participating. Also, two members of our ministry team will be traveling to the Asian Games that will begin in mid-September. Please pray that they will be able to share with many professional athletes the truth that hope in sports is short lived, but trust in the Lord is eternal.” HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM (HOE-chee-men) - The traditional story of Cuoi is central to the celebration every year of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Viet Nam. This year, it will be celebrated on September 8. As the story is told, Cuoi’s wife offended a sacred tree, and as a result, Cuoi was transported to the moon and trapped there as punishment. For the holiday, people will make and purchase lanterns to display in an effort to light the way for Cuoi to be able to return to earth. The story itself provides a wonderful bridge to the Gospel, as believers in the city have the opportunity to share with their family and friends about sin and punishment and a path to redemption. Pray for evangelistic activities this month as believers share about the true Light of the world in Jesus Christ and how they can follow His Light to forgiveness and into the family of God.
