| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST September 22, 2014 “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26, HCSB) WORLD LEADER - “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon of Colombia (northwestern South America). HIJAZI SAUDI ARABS OF SAUDI ARABIA (hi-JAH-zee) - Saudi Arabia is not the easiest place to access. There is no such thing as a “tourist” visa; foreigners are permitted to be in the country only for work or business, or to make the Islamic pilgrimages. Although the number of international workers in the Kingdom is increasing, that number is very small in relation to the total population. It remains difficult for them to get and keep visas. The overwhelming majority of workers reside in the three main cities. Government and employment restrictions place limits on what workers are permitted to do. Pray that the number of international workers who are believers will increase, and that they will obtain visas that will allow them to remain in the country. Ask for improved language skills. Pray that they will be intentional in their relationships with local people, and that their daily lives will reflect the love and light of Jesus. KALANGA OF BOTSWANA AND ZIMBABWE (kah-LAHNG-ah) - Fear is something that is huge in the African culture. Recently Barb*, a village woman, shared a testimony about a time when her blood pressure went dangerously high. Many people thought she was dying. Neighbors started coming into her room, saying, “You are going to die.” She said to them, “Why are you visiting me? I know the One I have put my faith in. Jesus Christ is in control. If I close my eyes in death, I will wake up and see Him.” As Barb learns to read and study the Word of God, she weeps, knowing that she can hear from the Lord on a daily basis. Please pray that Barb will share this testimony with others so Jesus can remove fear in the lives of many people.
