| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 13, 2014 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10, HCSB) WORLD LEADERS - "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for President Danilo Medina Sanchez of Dominican Republic (island southeast of Cuba). ANTANDROY OF MADAGASCAR (an-tan-DREW-ee) - The missionaries, along with the national pastor, entered the small, dimly lit room to pray with the family. The grandmother’s eyes were moist as she sat near the little bundle. She had just buried her daughter, the baby’s mother, who had died while she was in labor. The baby survived and was now being raised by the grandmother and other family members. The baby lay on the bed, wide awake. His eyes were glowing, and he looked like he was ready to conquer the world at just a few weeks old. This is a family from the local church, but the pain of losing the mother is real. Pray that this family will run to and trust in the Lord, who can bring peace that surpasses their understanding and guard their hearts and minds in His Son, Christ Jesus. Pray that this baby will grow up learning the ways of Jesus and come to make a huge difference in the kingdom for Christ. EUROPEAN PEOPLES - Field personnel serving in the British Irish Celts Cluster ask you to pray for a new church plant that is starting this month in a downtown urban center. They write: “This new expression of a local national church is aimed at reaching out to university students and young professionals who live and work near the downtown area. The hope is that a community of believers and nonbelievers alike will gather and experience the love and saving grace of Christ, and that they will come to live out their faith in practical ways each day throughout the city. Please join us in praying for this opportunity to reach people who have never heard about Jesus.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
