| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 29, 2014 "Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.” (John 16:24b, HCSB) WORLD LEADERS - "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for President Francois Hollande of France (western Europe). AEGEAN TURKS OF TURKEY (uh-JEE-an) - “In a tiny little town nestled between a lake and olive tree-covered mountains (a town well known for its place in church history), two of our co-workers had the opportunity to share Gospel truth with a young man who lives in a nearby village. Newly married, he lives with his extended family, and after requesting both a Bible and a DVD about Jesus from a correspondence website, he gathered his family and they all watched it together. When he first contacted our co-workers about meeting face to face, he wanted to know if it was all right for him to highlight things in his Bible as he read so he could ask questions when they met. After being reassured that it would be fine because the best way to show honor to the Word of God is to listen and obey, he began reading and highlighting. When they met, he pointed out his questions from his highlighted text in the Book of Matthew. They visited and talked for the next three hours. He seems to be the only one in his family interested at this moment, but he’s already been in touch about meeting these co-workers again, this time in his village, and he’s been reading and highlighting more things in his Bible. Praise God for this open door to his village! Please pray for Serkan* to encounter Jesus in a personal way as he reads, and pray that the Word spoken in this village will yield much fruit.” (*name changed) LUSAKA, ZAMBIA (loo-SAH-kah) - Orphans and vulnerable children, while not in the news, still face major problems. Their plight presents an immense opportunity not just to do evangelism, but also to have disciple-making relationships. Expanded Church Response, a non-governmental organization (NGO) led by a Baptist missionary in Lusaka, is reaching out to these children. Pray for those involved in this organization as they help churches and schools build up families to care for the nieces, nephews and grandchildren in their households, and as they help the population segment most vulnerable to violence and abuse: women and children. Lift them up as they train caregivers and families to start small businesses to generate income to care for themselves. Pray that God will be glorified as they extend their Christian witness through relationships with clinics, schools, the government, Christian organizations, and others. Pray for a successful outreach through human needs in both rural and urban areas.
