“Behold, I will do something new...I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19, NASB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, giving thanks for ministry around a cup of coffee or tea.

Seda* and her husband have been following Jesus for 15 years. A worker met Seda five years ago when she became the family’s “house helper.” She showed the worker how to make tea and coffee the local way. She helped keep the house in order with three small children running around. Clearly Seda is much more than a house helper. Workers have been meeting with Seda and her husband for worship in their heart language. They discuss how to share God’s truth effectively with Muslim friends there in Turkey. Seda boldly shares the Gospel and has invited friends to learn more about Jesus.

Abdulaye* can be found in the Sahara Desert on the side of the road under a tree, next to a small table where he sells everyday items like tea, sugar, matches and candy to his Tuareg neighbors. He sees everyone who drives or walks by and knows all of his neighbors by name. A believing family stopped by one morning, so Abdulaye made tea and they all talked next to his table on the side of the road. Abdulaye thought the Bible stories they told were good, but he did not believe in Jesus.

Coffee. Conversation. Christ. This is the prayer of a group of national believers in England. Their small but vibrant church has purchased an abandoned building and are beginning to renovate, in hopes of turning it into a place where people will gather not just for a cup of coffee, but also for a chat about spiritual matters.

* Please pray for this dedicated group in England, asking the Lord to provide the necessary skilled laborers to refurbish this building and open the door for quality spiritual conversations.

* Pray that Abdulaye will believe and share Jesus with every person who passes by his small table on the side of the road.

* Pray that God will use Seda and her husband mightily among the people in Turkey.
