| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 8, 2014 "I call on You, God, because You will answer me; listen closely to me; hear what I say.” (Psalm 17:6, HCSB) WORLD LEADERS - "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for Administrator Richard J. Crispwell of Dhekelia (territory north of Athens, Greece). NORTH AFRICANS OF SOUTHERN FRANCE - Sara*, a North African believer, was able to travel to France to be part of a translation project. Believers there were translating films of biblical stories into French and some Arabic dialects. Sara was able to help with creating the Algerian Arabic subtitles for films about Abraham, Moses, and other prophets. As she worked, she prayed over the films and over those who would one day watch them, asking that they would be drawn to the truth of Jesus. Her heart is broken for those she sees who are following the teachings of their religion because they don’t know anything different. Praise God for Sara’s willingness to help with this translation project. Lift her up as she returns to her home country in October. Join Sara in lifting up these translated films and those who will watch them, asking that the truth will be made clear and that many will come into relationship with Jesus. Pray for opportunities for these films to be translated into other languages and Arabic dialects in order to reach more people with the Truth. (*name changed) PEOPLES OF THE ISLANDS OF LAKE VICTORIA, EAST AFRICA - “Our ministries on both sides of Buvuma Island have been under intense satanic attack during the past few months, and we covet your intercession,” writes the Islands Team. “We have had pastors beaten and property destroyed or stolen, and direct and indirect efforts have been made to intimidate the national believers. Also, the lives and work of our missionaries have been directly targeted by those practicing witchcraft here. These islands have long been strongholds of people entrenched in ancestor worship and animism.” For additional prayer requests, click here: Today’s Prayer (If you have difficulty with this link, please go to www.imb.org and click on the “Pray” tab, and then click on the “Today’s Prayer” link in the left-hand column.) |
