| Prayer requests on the website are updated every Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m., EST October 7, 2014 “LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully.” (Psalm 10:17, HCSB) WORLD LEADERS - "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2, NKJV). Please pray today for Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark (northwestern Europe). MIAO OF THE LAND OF FIRE, EAST ASIA (MEE-yow) - Praise God for the nearly 100 Miao from the Land of Fire who came to Christ this past year! One of the biggest challenges has been for these new believers to stop venerating demons. Their whole lives, they have lived in fear of evil spirits, believing that every sickness and malady is a result of demonic oppression, and they have followed a complicated system of rituals to appease those spirits. In August, several of these new believers said that they could see no way to stop appeasing spirits, as their families would expect them to perform the rituals. But then one of the believers dreamed that she saw a demon. In the dream, God told her, “Don’t be afraid. I have come to save you from the demons.” Then, to the evil spirit, He said, “Go!” and it disappeared. She felt such peace, and felt His love so deeply, that the next morning, she told all the new believers about her dream and said that God is more powerful than all the demons. As a result, they cut the amulets off of their children and have chosen to worship God alone. Please pray for these new believers, asking that God will protect them and their children from all harm. Pray that they will step forward in baptism, be completely free from demonic influence, and grow in their faith. Ask that a church will be planted in that village. RUSSIAN-SPEAKING PEOPLE OF UFA, RUSSIA (oo-FAH) - Please pray for a Russian Baptist Union meeting that will be held in Moscow on October 9-10. Pray that it will inspire and motivate all involved to lead their churches to be on mission with God outside of Russia on short-term mission trips, as well as in the building of new partnerships to reach the ends of the earth with the Good News.
