“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9a, HCSB)

Hi, this is Eleanor Witcher of IMB’s prayer office, asking you to pray for areas of the world dealing with insecurity.

A missionary serving in East Africa explains how difficult it is to reach those who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Personnel are facing some of the worst days of insecurity that this part of East Africa has ever seen. This has affected some ministries and personnel. None of this came by surprise to the Lord and workers continue to follow the Lord’s leading in faith.

Kenya has been highlighted in the news recently for its political and social unrest. Security concerns are now common for those living in the country. Kenyan believers are now, more than ever, contemplating their beliefs. Do they love the Lord enough to suffer for their beliefs? Most Digo, along with other unbelievers, have other questions. Where will I go if a bomb goes off and I die? How do I feel about my religion as I watch others engage in Holy War?

Events occurring in multiple countries of Northern Africa and the Middle East make it evident that the world is facing constant change. While the world has had its eye on the nations--with widespread violence and life-threatening actions--there are other activities occurring that are not being reported in the media. Believers are meeting people daily who are experiencing the burden of fears, diseases, family conflicts, hearts of bitterness, failing faith, death, jealousies, etc., and who have emotions that can be easily stirred by such concerns. Boldness and strength are needed for sharing God’s message and for maintaining a commitment to stewardship, worship, fasting and prayer.

* Please pray that believers will not allow the influence of the nations around them to prevent them from following after Jesus.

* Intercede for Digo believers in Kenya to reach out to those of other faiths to share with them the truth of Christ.

* Pray for workers in East Africa to sense His protection and incredible love as they serve.
