Worldview: Darkness and light in the Middle East
Sometimes the sheer horror of it all overwhelms Christian workers as they help refugees fleeing war and terror in Syria and Iraq. "I don't think I've ever seen or felt darkness so strongly," said a Christian strategy leader based in the Middle East. Yet hope that was hidden from many in earlier, quieter times is being introduced to people searching desperately for it now.

VIDEO: 'Imagine our opportunity'
Imagine billions of people who've never heard God loves them, who've never heard the greatest news in all the world, says IMB President David Platt. God has given us the resources to see more missionaries go to the ends of the earth. How is God leading you to give to make his glory known among all peoples?

Hear more from Platt on video and find resources to promote missions giving in your church at imb.org/now.

'Long-haul' healing
When disaster strikes in the world, Southern Baptists are on the scene to help immediately — and long term — through Baptist Global Response and through IMB missionaries living in or near the devastation. "It's Southern Baptists who stay. It's Southern Baptists who continue to work," a volunteer noted. Learn how hearts are healing following last year's Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and Japan's 2011 triple disaster.
